Este pasado 11 de septiembre, tuvo su estreno oficial -luego de haberse presentado incompleta en SWSW- la película The Disaster Artist, protagonizada por James Franco y Dave Franco.

Allí estuvieron los hermanos Franco, quienes interpretan a Tommy Wiseau (James) y Greg Sestero (Dave), el director y actor principal de una de las peores películas de todo los tiempos, The Room. Los acompañaron Alison Brie, esposa de Dave su interés amoroso en la película. Tampoco podían faltar el legendario Tommy Wiseau, luciendo su doble correa y Greg Sestero, su estrella principal y autor del libro homónimo en el cual está basada la película.

Un encantador tributo a la felicidad y locura de hacer películas, The Disaster Artist sigue las increíbles aventuras del excéntrico cineasta, Tommy Wiseau y su mejor amigo, el actor Greg Sestero. Estos dos queridos inadaptados se mudan a Los Ángeles y tratan de vivir el sueño Hollywoodense tratando de hacer su propia película, pero terminan embarcando en una salvajemente impredecible e inolvidable producción. Esto resulta en una de las más infames, extrañas y adoradas películas de media noche de todos los tiempos, The Room.

La película, basada en el libro de Greg Sestero, fue dirigida por James Franco, quien también interpreta a Wiseau en la película. El resto del elenco lo componen Dave Franco y Seth Rogen. La película también cuenta con las actuaciones de Alison Brie, Zac Efron, Zoey Deutch, Lizzy Caplan, Bryan Cranston, Dylan Minnette, Sharon Stone, Adam Scott, Judd Apatow, Christopher Mintz-Plasse y Josh Hutcherson, entre otros.

El estreno de The Disaster Artist en las salas de cine de Estados Unidos está programado para el 8 de diciembre de este año.
