Los Ángeles, CA – 14 de diciembre de 2022) – Los Critic Choice Association (CCA) anunció hoy a los nominados a la categoría de cine para la 28a edición de los Premios Anuales de Elección de la Crítica. Los ganadores se revelarán en la gala de los Critics Choice Awards repleta de estrellas organizada por Chelsea Handler, que se transmitirá EN VIVO en The CW desde el Fairmont Century Plaza de Los Ángeles el domingo 15 de enero de 2023 (7:00 – 10:00 pm ET, PT retrasado – consulte los listados locales).
“Everything Everywhere All at Once” lidera a los contendientes al cine de este año, ganando catorce nominaciones en total. Además de las nominaciones a Mejor Película y Mejor Comedia, la película obtuvo varias nominaciones como actriz, incluyendo a la mejor actriz para Michelle Yeoh y a la mejor actriz de reparto por Ke Huy Quan. Tanto Jamie Lee Curtis como Stephanie Hsu están a la altura de la mejor actriz de reparto, y el elenco obtuvo una nominación al mejor conjunto de actuación. Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert ganaron guiones en las categorías de Mejor Director y Mejor Guión Original, mientras que Jason Kisvarday y Kelsi Ephraim fueron nominados a Mejor Diseño de Producción, junto con Paul Rogers a la Mejor Edición y Shirley Kurata a Mejor Diseño de Vestuario. La película también fue nominada a Mejor Cabello y Maquillaje y Mejores Efectos Visuales.
Steven Spielberg recibió una vez más una nominación al mejor director, esta vez al nominado a la mejor película “The Fabelmans”, además de un guion a la mejor guion original junto a Tony Kushner. Además de recibir una nominación al mejor conjunto de actuación, varios miembros del elenco fueron reconocidos por sus actuaciones destacadas, incluida la nominada a la mejor actriz Michelle Williams, los nominados al mejor actor de reparto Paul Dano y Judd Hirsch, y el contendiente al mejor actor joven/actriz Gabriel LaBelle. Completando las impresionantes once nominaciones del proyecto, Janusz Kaminski ganó un asundo a la mejor fotografía, mientras que Rick Carter y Karen O’Hara están a la vuelta de mejor diseño de producción, y John Williams podría llevarse a casa el trofeo a la mejor puntuación.
La lista de contendientes a la mejor película también incluye “Babylon” y “The Banshees of Inisherin”, que obtuvieron nueve nominaciones sobresalientes cada una, junto con “Elvis” y “Tár”, que recogieron siete nominaciones cada una. Los nominados a la mejor película son “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”, “RRR”, “Top Gun: Maverick” y “Women Talking”. Hay once nominados a la mejor película este año debido a un empate exacto. Además, el CCA amplió la categoría de Mejor Director para incluir a diez nominados.

Como se anunció anteriormente, “Abbott Elementary” lidera a los contendientes de televisión para la 28a edición anual de los Critics Choice Awards, recogiendo asientes en seis categorías. Además de la mejor serie de comedia, el programa obtuvo varias nominaciones como actriz, incluida la mejor actriz en una serie de comedia para Quinta Brunson. Chris Perfetti y Tyler James Williams fueron nominados al mejor actor de reparto en una serie de comedia, mientras que Janelle James y Sheryl Lee Ralph ganaron nominaciones a la mejor actriz de reparto en una serie de comedia. “Better Call Saul” siguió con unas impresionantes cinco nominaciones en general, mientras que “Gaslit”, “Reservation Dogs” y “The Good Fight” empataron con cuatro nominaciones cada uno.
También se anunció que el icono de Hollywood Jeff Bridges recibirá el Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award en el espectáculo de este año.
