Para celebrar sus 80 años, el “Directors Guild of America” (Sindicato de Directores en Estados Unidos) publicó una lista de los que, según ellos, son los 80 filmes con la mejor dirección desde el 1936, fecha en que se fundó el Sindicato. La lista nos llega mediante el portal The Film Stage.

Luego de una encuesta que se le hizo a los 2,189 miembros del Sindicato, el puesto número 1 se lo llevó el director Francis Ford Coppola por su filme “The Godfather”. El director tiene otros dos filmes en las primeras 10 posiciones.

Kathryn Bigelow es la única directora en la lista, ocupando la posición número 56 con su película “The Hurt Locker”. Como con la mayoría de las listas, esta ha causado controversia en la comunidad cinéfila, con decisiones como poner a “Birdman” primero que películas como “The Bicycle Thief” o “Rashomon”.
