La Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas entrega hoy los premios Oscar a las mejores películas del 2015 en la edición número 88 de la ceremonia, la cual contará con el comediante Chris Rock como anfitrión.

El director mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu de “The Revenant” podría hacer historia esta noche de llevarse el premio al Mejor Director por segundo año consecutivo. También sería el tercer año consecutivo en que el galardón cae en manos de un director mexicano. Alfonso Cuarón ganó hace dos años por “Gravity”, mientras que Iñárritu se lo llevó el año pasado por “Birdman”. No obstante, este año la competencia está mucho más fuerte con George Miller de “Mad Max: Fury Road” como uno de los favoritos.

En la categoría principal, el drama “Spotlight” luce como el favorito, mientras que la sátira “The Big Short” llega esta noche con el empuje del Sindicato de Productores. “

Leonardo DiCaprio podría saborear el oro por primera vez esta noche de llevarse el Oscar al Mejor Actor Principal por “The Revenant”, galardón que el año pasado fue para Eddie Redmayne por “The Theory of Everything”. Redmayne compite este año otra vez con el drama “The Danish Girl”, pero para repetir tendría que vencer a un DiCaprio que ha ganado en todos los premios que preceden los Oscar.

En el resto de las categorías de actuación, se espera que Brie Larson de “Room”, Sylvester Stallone de “Creed” y Alicia Vikander de “The Danish Girl” sean reconocidos en las categorías de Mejor Actriz Principal, Mejor Actor de Reparto y Mejor Actriz de Reparto, respectivamente.

Disney Pixar podría añadir un octavo Oscar en la categoría de Película Animada a su colección por “Inside Out”, de no ser que “Anomalisa” de los dirctores Charlie Kaufman y Duke Johnson sorprenda con una victoria.
