La película, escrita y dirigida por Brady Corbet, sigue el ascenso a la fama de Celeste, de las cenizas de una tragedia nacional al estrellato como cantante de música pop. La película se desarrolla a lo largo de 18 años y traza importantes momentos culturales a través de sus ojos, comenzando en el 1999 y culminando en el 2017.

Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin y Jennifer Ehle componen el elenco principal de la película, selección oficial del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto y el Festival de Cine de Venecia, donde tendrá su estreno mundial.
El estreno de Vox Lux en la salas de cine de Estados Unidos aún no tiene fecha, pero se espera sea en algún momento del 2019.
