Joker, una de las películas más anticipadas del otoño, tendrá su estreno norteamericano en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto, según un comunicado oficial. Se espera que la película se presente días antes en el Festival de Venecia.
La inusual propuesta del director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) solo es uno de las decenas de títulos que fueron anunciados hoy por el festival en el primero de lo que usualmente son varios anuncios antes de que oficialmente arranque en septiembre.
Abominable, película animada de DreamWorks, tendrá su estreno mundial en el concurrido festival. También debutarán en el festival “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” con Tom Hanks; “Ford v Ferrari” con Christian Bale y Matt Damon; “The Goldfinch” con Ansel Elgort y Finn Wolfhard; “Hustlers” con Jennifer López y Cardi B; y “Just Mercy” con Brie Larson y Michael B. Jordan entre otras.
Luego de ser galardonada con la Palma de Oro en el Festival de Cannes en Francia, se presentará en Toronto la cinta “Parasite” del director Bong Joon-ho. También llega directo de Cannes la cinta de terror “The Lighthouse”, protagonizada por Robert Pattinson y Willem Dafoe. La película en blanco y negro fue dirigida por Robert Eggers (The VVitch).
El Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto se celebra del 5 al 15 de septiembre en Toronto, Canadá.
